The Kemmerer Middle School seventh grade track squad made some noise the last few weeks by taking down three school records.

Madison Bauers ran the mile in 6 minutes 4.46 seconds, besting the record set by Sammi Butler of 6:10.62 in 2015.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Bauers, Savannah Ellis,  Jacquie Gunter and Makaela Simpson set a new record by running the oval in 56.70 seconds.  The old record of 57.57 seconds was set in 2016 by Marisa Orcutt, Madelyn Gregory, Jillian Tibbetts and Cyndi Ashliman.

The 4x200 meter relay team composed of the same four girls ran a new record time of 2 minutes 1.95 seconds.  The old record of 2:03.41 was set in 2016 by Orcutt, Gregory, Tibbetts and Genesis Malone.

Seventh grader Makaela Simpson ran the 200-meter hurdles in 33.87 seconds. Her time fell short of Brooklynn Hagler’s 2014 record by a mere four-tenths of a second.

Eighth grader Quentin Rosas placed seventh in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.14 seconds.  His time would have placed fourth at the 2A West Regional Meet last weekend.
