South Lincoln Medical Center and Lincoln County Public Health will resume the Diabetes Education and Support Group for 2018.
The group will gather on Monday, Jan. 8, to kick off the new year of presentations and discussions.
At the first meeting, Carrie Rydstrom and her son, Easton, will talk about their experiences with Easton’s diagnosis of diabetes in 2014.
In spite of medical intervention, use of technology, and careful management of the illness, Easton still experiences life-threatening episodes.
The family hopes to obtain a service dog which is specially trained to detect early onset diabetic episodes so that Easton and his family can manage them accordingly.
Please join us to start up this year’s meetings.
The group is for those with diabetes, young or old, newly diagnosed, experienced, or just interested in information about diabetes.
Family members and friends are welcome to attend.
The group meets on the second Monday of every month at the South Lincoln Medical Center boardroom at 5 p.m. from January through September.
Please contact Lynn at Lincoln County Public Health, 877-3780 for additional information.
