After a couple of weeks of redesigning and construction, Hometown Floral & Décor reopened to customers on Tuesday, Sept. 15, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Kemmerer/Diamondville Community Area Chamber of Commerce.
Owned by Cheryl Goodwine and her daughter Nicole Anderson, Hometown Floral & Décor first opened in July 2018. Goodwine said they have been wanting to revamp it ever since.
“We wanted to make it fresh and pleasant for people to visit,” Goodwine said. “A lot of the stuff was old and worn.”
The flooring was replaced, the trim was redone, new shelving was put together and the bathroom has a whole new look — Goodwine and Anderson did it themselves. While the redesign was happening, Facebook photos showed their progress and hyped up the grand reopening.
Although a fall caused Goodwine to injure her foot and pushed back the opening a day, she was in good spirits and happy to be back open for the community.
