Homecoming celebrations in Kemmerer

The 2018 KHS homecoming royalty was crowned on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Another Homecoming week for Kemmerer High School is in the books. To kick off the festivities last week, seniors continued the tradition of painting and lighting the “K” on the hillside.

On Wednesday, Oct. 3, Homecoming royalty was crowned (see above photo). All seniors who are involved in activities this fall were recognized with their parents at the event.

Wednesday night’s lineup also featured the football team’s jersey auction, where the seniors jerseys are awarded to the highest bidder as a fundraiser. Hayden Walker’s jersey sold for the highest amount, at $550. On Thursday, the Lady Rangers were victorious in their Homecoming game against Manila.

Friday afternoon brought the community together for a parade from the high school to Ridley’s. 

Kemmerer fell to Glenrock in the Homecoming football contest on Friday night, but there were plenty of Ranger fans who braved the cold to cheer them on.

The American Legion Post 55 marches in the Homecoming Parade on Friday, Oct. 5.

The KHS senior class float, decorated with the theme “Skunk the Herders,” won best float in the Homecoming Parade on Friday, Oct. 5.  The float was even equipped with a smoke machine.
