“I am happy with where we are right now,” Aimone said. “We are ahead of where we were last year and that’s a great sign. These ladies will continue to work hard and get better.”

The KHS girls swim team competed in the Lander Valley meet on Friday, August 25 and Saturday, August 26.
The Rangers have been traveling back and forth to Evanston to practice because the Kemmerer pool is being repaired.
“The girls have done an awesome job dealing with this situation, and the school is doing everything in their power to get this issue fixed,” said head coach Amanda Aimone.
At the meet, the young Ranger team competed against Green River, Lander, Rock Springs, Pinedale and Lyman.
Teryn Thatcher and Alexis Krall qualified on Friday in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 100-yard freestyle, according to coach Aimone. Stevie Moyles qualified on Saturday in the 100-yard backstroke.
“The other girls swam hard and cut a lot of time,” Aimone said. “We have a young team this year with half our team being freshmen. The freshmen did a great job. Freshman Sydnie Julander did a great job on the board for the first time, diving six dives in a meet.”
Teryn Thatcher also competed well in the 100-Yard Butterfly and the 50-yard freestyle, and Thatcher, Moyles and Krall swam well in the 50-yard freestyle.
The girls compete next on Saturday, Sept. 2, at Lyman High School and then on Thursday, Sept. 7, at Rock Springs High School.
“I am happy with where we are right now,” Aimone said. “We are ahead of where we were last year and that’s a great sign. These ladies will continue to work hard and get better.”
