Evelyn Lorraine Bazzanella Mecca, passed away at South Lincoln Medical Center in Kemmerer, on March 23, at the age of 90. She was born on October 26, 1927, in Rock Springs, the daughter of Albert D. and Mary E. (Carollo) Bazzanella.
Evelyn graduated from Rock Springs High School in May of 1946. She married Rudy Mecca on June 22, 1947, in Rock Springs. She was a member of AARP, the Eagles Auxillary and Happy Homemakers. She enjoyed spending time in the Hoback, fishing and hunting. She loved to knit and enjoyed entertaining her friends. She enjoyed a good game of Bingo, playing cards, traveling, cooking and baking, dancing and music. She enjoyed visiting with her late husband Rudy and her daughter Diana. Evelyn was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Diana (John) Mackinen of Kemmerer; grandchildren, Michael Anne Mackinen of Kemmerer, and Shane William Mackinen, of Elko, Nevada; a great-granddaughter, Sable Sage Abeyta, of Kemmerer; and Rudi Morgan Mackinen, of Kemmerer; niece Cheryl Garadino and her sons, John, Albert, and Brad of Rock Springs; and nephew, Albert (Shawna) Bazzanella III of Rock Springs, and their children, Albert IV, and Chelsie Tipton; and numerous cousins, a great-niece, three great-nephews, and one great-great-nephew. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Albert Bazzanella, Jr.; and a niece, Anna Maria Bazzanella.
Memorial services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 28, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kemmerer. Graveside services will proceed the memorial services at the South Lincoln Cemetery in Kemmerer. At her request, cremation has taken place under the direction of Ball Family Chapel in Kemmerer.
