Edward Rex Clayson

Edward Rex Clayson, age 69, passed away at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Dec. 17, 2018.

He was born on March 19, 1949, in Spanish Fork, Utah, the son of Edward Stoddard and Ethel Faye (Argyle) Clayson. 

Edward married Pamela Sue Slovernick on November 2, 1974, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  

He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was honorably discharged in January 1974.  During his military career, Rex served in Vietnam, and received two purple hearts. 

Rex loved the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed camping in the mountains with his family.

He loved to weld, and spent the majority of his working career with Church & Dwight. He enjoyed bullriding and bareback riding. He loved to spend time with his family and his longtime dog, Missie.  

Rex is survived by his beloved spouse, Pamela Clayson, of Diamondville, Wyo;  children, Jamie Fettkether of Texas; Jeralyn and Dale Smuin, of Kemmerer, Wyo; Kodi and Shirley Clayson of Brookings, South Dakota; Michael Clayson of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by sisters Vickie (Jack) Barton of Henderson, Nevada; Charmine (Michael) DeMunda, of Henderson, Nevada; Patty Stevens of Henderson, Nevada; nine grandchildren, two greatgranchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews, two brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.

Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS First Ward building in Kemmerer with Bishop Scott Ellis officiating. Services will conclude at the church with full military honors. 

At his request, cremation for Rex has taken place under the direction of Ball Family Chapel of Kemmerer.
