Posted

You live in Kemmerer and would like to borrow a book from the Alpine Library. Can you do this? Sure thing! How much does it cost? Free! Any citizen of Lincoln County can borrow materials free of charge from any Lincoln County Library System library.

How about borrowing material from a library outside Lincoln County? Sure thing! How much does this service cost? Currently, it costs $2 to borrow from any other library in Wyoming to cover postage.

Can we borrow materials from a library outside the state of Wyoming? Sure thing! How much does this service cost? Most of the time it only costs $2; however, there are libraries that ask a higher fee to cover the entire cost of postage. This opens a world of possibilities to patrons if the book you want is not available here in Wyoming. Ask your librarian to interlibrary loan the material. Your Lincoln County Library System works with libraries all across the country.

Did you know that curbside pickup is still available? During the pandemic interlibrary loan program throughout the county skyrocketed. Combined with curbside pickup, kids and adults working from home still had access to their library. Imagine if you were in the middle of a wonderful series and couldn’t get the next book? With interlibrary loan and curbside pickup you were still able to finish that series. Do you still want to utilize curbside pickup? Just give your library a call and they will be happy to arrange this for you.

Can I place holds on materials without going into the library? Sure thing! Go online to linclib.org and search for your material. Request your book or DVD using your library card and pin. If you forgot your pin, call your library and they will assist you with that.

The Lincoln County Library has many new titles arriving each month. Can you check these new books out? Sure thing! Save your cash for that vacation you have been dreaming about and check the library first. Don’t know what new materials are out? Go to linclib.org and click on New Items to see what is available to check out.

Anything from local histories of Ham’s Fork, Cokeville, Bear Lake or Freedom to magazines like Western Horseman, Time or Good Housekeeping can be borrowed. During the pandemic, cooking, scary movies and raising backyard chickens became hot topics for families in Lincoln County. Your libraries were there to get the materials needed.

Do you have a specific material that you want? Visit with a librarian at your Lincoln County Library System library and they will do their best to find it for you!
