Diane (Turowski) Burg passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at South Lincoln Medical Center in Kemmerer at the age of 75. She was born December 17, 1943, the middle child of Stanley and Blanche M (Mazurek) Turowski in Detroit, Michigan. She stumbled across and fell in love with a sailor, Andrew Carl Burg, and they married on January 19, 1970, in Wessington Springs, South Dakota. This union was blessed with two children, Brian and Annemarie.

Mom graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn, Michigan. She left to see the world and travel. She was in Hawaii on her way to Australia when she met Dad. He was a sailor in the U.S. Navy.

Mom and Dad lived on the farm in Wessington Springs, South Dakota, for a couple of years before moving to Kemmerer, Wyo., where Dad had found a job in the coal mines. When Dad decided to start a business, Mom was right beside him. They owned and operated Auto Inn Repair together. She did the books and answered many night calls. She also kept busy raising their kids and took temporary jobs to make ends meet for the family.

Mom was an angel here on earth. She was always visiting the elderly and baking for people. Everyone loved to eat her apple squares. She was a regular at the senior center. Often, she would come to the shop to tell us about her Wii bowling and bingo triumphs.

Mom’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren: Easton, Tawny, Aaron and Pearl. She loved to take them to story time, Arctic Circle and grandma day. She loved to bake with them and read to them.

Mom loved to travel and went on many cruises and trips with her siblings and spouse.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Andy, son Brian (Katrina) and daughter Annemarie (Josh), all of Kemmerer; four grandchildren and sister Paula (Dan) of Kona, Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Butch.

Rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 7, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kemmerer, with the funeral Mass on Friday, March 8, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the South Lincoln Cemetery in Kemmerer. At a later date, a memorial celebration will be held for friends and family who could not be with us due to weather.

Donations in Diane’s name can be made to the Kemmerer Senior Citizen Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Ball Family Chapel of Kemmerer.
