Diamondville Wrestling Club shows great at state

Posted

Diamondville Wrestling Club competed at the Wyoming State Tournament on April 7-9. The club hauled 12 wrestlers to the State tournament, where they competed in three different styles: folkstyle, freestyle and Greco-Roman.

Diamondville Wrestling Club had four wrestlers place in all three styles, with an additional wrestler placing in two styles. Riggen Walker had a fantastic tournament; he won first place in all three styles, making it his first triple crown award.

Hagen Lamaroux had a great state tournament finishing second in all three styles. Sam Thatcher placed fourth in freestyle and fifth in folkstyle. Connor Vickrey placed fifth in freestyle, sixth in folkstyle and third in Greco.

Braxton Pope placed fourth in freestyle and folkstyle and 3rd in Greco. Hunter Batista ended up in third in freestyle. Cole Rogers, Roany Proffit, Karl Haslem, Logan Bauers, Dominic Pope and Christian Pope all competed well, gaining knowledge for the seasons to come, though falling short of placing. Coaches and parents wish to congratulate all the boys who competed.
