KEMMERER — the Kemmerer City Council met on Monday, Feb. 10. The council held a short meeting to finish their discussions on the weapons ordinance and to award the contract for the Economic diversification Strategy to Global Location Studies.
The council approved the third and final reading of the weapons ordinance. The council members all agreed they have a hard time passing firearms legislation but see the safety issue in the ordinance and have changed the ordinance to make it safe for the residents in town.
They finished up by discussing changing out the filter in the Jet A Fuel Dispensing System. “This is about a $5400 upgrade to the fueling system at the airport, basically to remove water from the jet fuel so it’s not freezing at altitude, for a cost of $108, the rest being covered by grant money,” said Councilman Mark Quinn, on what the upgrade is about. The FAA would cover 96% of the total cost.
The Council will meet again on Feb. 24 at 7 p.m.
