The community choir brought the spirit of Christmas to Kemmerer on Monday, Dec. 11, at the high school auditorium.
Sharon Reetz conducted the choir and Jessica Witbeck provided the accompaniment of piano music for the holiday celebration.
KeriAnne Swasey introduced the choir members. Sopranos were April Corwin, Cynda Hill, Megan Jensen, Judy Julian, Margie Vickery and Karen Wallentine. Altos were Tiffany Allen, Barb Christensen, Jan Crosland, Lisa Kershner, Cynthia Platt, and Jody Sherwood. Tenors were Denver Erickson and Robin Piippo. Bass members, Adan Aase, Geoff Allen, Eli Erickson, Tucker Erickson and Jim Thoeny.
The choir performed in glorious harmony as the auditorium filled with the sounds of Christmas. Songs such as “Our Winter Wonderland” and the upbeat tune of “Go, Tell It On the Mountain” had the crowd beaming with holiday cheer. “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” and “Silent Night” reminded us all of the true meaning of Christmas. Karen Wallentine’s solo of “Away in the Manger” brought chills to the audience with her incredible vocal range. Another classic, “O Holy Night” featured Geoff Allen, Adam Aase and Robin Piippo The choir ended the concert with the cheery sounds of ” A Christmas Opener.” The community gathered in the lobby after to share treats and visit.
