The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners approved the Fiscal Year 2017–2018 budget for Lincoln County at the Commissioners’ meeting on Tuesday, July 18, at the Lincoln County courthouse in Kemmerer.
The budget, including the Fair Board budget of $475,000 and the Library Board budget of $1,312,000, totaled at $18,440,114.
Lincoln County Treasurer Jerry Greenfield informed the Commissioners that some of the budget may have to come out of reserves, as the county is still recovering from an economic downturn.
“There’s been an upward trend, but it didn’t jump like I hoped,” Greenfield said. “We’re still waiting on some numbers to come in, though.”
Commissioner Connelly expressed his hope that Westmoreland’s additional coal sales for this upcoming year would boost the economy.
At the meeting, the Commissioners also discussed County road improvements and the courthouse renovation and demolition project.
