Cokeville Panthers wrestle at Ron Thon

Lochlyn Teichert placed fifth in the varsity division at the Riverton Ron Thon on Saturday, Jan 26. 

The Panther wrestlers were host to the Mountain View Buffs on Tuesday, Jan. 22. This night was dedicated to Whytney Murdock, Jaydon Nelson, Jon Weske and Stan Thompson, all of whom are battling health issues. Many of those attending wore yellow, green and purple to raise awareness for the different illnesses. The Buffalo wrestling team presented Jaydon Nelson with cupcakes and each member of the team presented Whytney Murdock with a yellow flower.

There were also donations collected for Jon Weske and his family. The Panthers won the dual head-to-head but lost in the end due to open weights.

The Panther wrestlers traveled to Riverton for the Ron Thon Best of the Best Wrestling Tournament on Jan. 25 and 26. This tournament features the Best of the Best from all three classifications in Wyoming. The Panthers did very well and gained valuable mat time.

Wyatt Mackey (126) finished 6–2 in the J.V. division and brought home a fourth-place medal. Lochlyn Teichert (145) finished fifth in the varsity division going 5–2. Bentley Johnson (182) finished fourth in the varsity division going 4–2. Other results in the varsity division included: Ammon Teichert (152) finished 2–2; Wes Teichert (152) finished 0–2; Devan Moody (160) finished 2–2; Brayden Johnson (170) finished 2–2. The Panthers will be home this week as they host the Bridgerland Tournament on Friday, Feb. 1.

Wyatt Mackey (126) earned 4th place in the J.V. division at the Ron Thon and Bentley Johnson (182) earned fourth place in the varsity division.
