COKEVILLE — A pre-Festival concert was held on Wednesday, April 26, as part of the Cokeville High School students’ preparation for Festival on Thursday in Jackson Hole.
The band performed “Counterbalance,” “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” and “Travelin’ Music.”
The choir performed “Viva La Musica,” “Danny Boy” and “He Never Failed Me Yet” with soloists Yoli Oussanov, Sterling Murdock and Bentley Johnson.
Celebration was the final group to perform that evening. They performed “Sway,” “You’ll Be in My Heart” and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.” It was a wonderful concert. Special thanks to director Robbie King and accompanist Nanette Cook.
The concert band, concert choir and Celebration groups performed at The Southwest Music Festival in Jackson Hole on Thursday and Friday, April 27 and 28. The band and choir each received Excellent ratings while Celebration earned a Superior rating.
On Friday, two students performed solos. Emily Sparks earned a Superior rating on her vocal solo, and Dylan Moody earned an Excellent rating on his vocal solo and a Superior rating on his tuba solo.
