Cokeville Lady Panthers Take Second at State Championships

The Cokeville Lady Panthers traveled to Casper on Thursday for the All Classification State Championship Volleyball Tournament. The Lady Panthers began their quest for the state title on Thursday night when they competed against the Lady Doggers of Lingle-Fort Laramie. The Lady Panthers came out strong and won in three sets 25-16, 25-13, 25-18.

The win advanced them to the semi-final game against the Lady Red Devils of Hulett. The Lady Devils were a scrappy team. They Lady Panthers won the first set 25-19 but the Lady Devils came back to take the second set 18-25. The Lady Panthers dominated the third winning, 25-11 and the fourth ended up being a battle but the Lady Panthers came out on top 25-20.

This win advanced the Lady Panthers to the championship game against the Kaycee Lady Buccaneers. It was a battle the entire game. The Lady Buccaneers won the first set 26-24 and the second set 25-17. The Lady Panthers dug deep and came back to win the third set 14-25 but were unable to hold off the Lady Buccaneers, losing the fourth set 25-18 and the game.

The Lady Panthers played hard and had a great cheering section there to support them. One of their biggest fans and cheerleader was Principal Kenneth Dietz.
