Cokeville High School hosted the annual Volleyball Tournament of Champions on Friday, August 25, and Saturday, August 26.
Teams competing at the tournament included Cokeville, Grace, Green River, Alta, Campbell County, Bear Lake, Star Valley, Lyman, Rich County, Evanston, Mountain View and Preston.
The twelve teams were placed in three pools of four teams on Friday.
The Lady Panthers opened their pool play against Grace, where they won in three games to take the match.
Cokeville’s next match was with the Lady Wolves of Green River.
The Panthers defeated the Lady Wolves and went on to their final game late that night against the Lady Hawks of Alta.
The Lady Panthers went five intense games with the Lady Hawks and came away with the huge win. This win clinched a spot for them in the Gold Bracket on Saturday.
The Lady Panthers had a tough day ,falling to Green River and Mountain View on Saturday.
This year’s championship featured the Lady Wolves of Green River and the Lady Red Devils of Evanston.
This match also went five exciting games with the Lady Wolves coming out on top and earning the championship.
For fans watching, there were two great days of volleyball.
Fans can look forward to a great season of Lady Panther Volleyball. The Lady Panthers will travel to the Highland Tournament this week.
