Claudette Blair-Higgins

Claudette Blair-Higgins, age 70, passed away at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah on May 22, 2021. She was born on June 7, 1950 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, the daughter of Claude Edward and Wanda June (Jump) Blair. She was born the 4th child of 6 siblings.

She attended Jackson elementary through high school in Jackson and worked at various jobs in Jackson. After high school, she went to truck driving school and learned to drive OTR trucks and got to see the USA.

Claudette met the love of her life, Thomas Higgins, in Oklahoma. They worked together there before locating back to Wyoming. Thomas got a job at the Kemmerer mine, and that is where they settled for the last 21 years.

Claudette was a scale master for the Kemmerer Landfill for the last nine years. Claudette and Thomas loved to go camping and ride ATVs whenever time allowed. Claudette had a brilliant sense of humor and loved to have fun and laugh.

Claudette is survived by her husband, Thomas Higgins, of Diamondville; a daughter, Stacie (Dirk) Clayton; a son, Kevin Seherr-Thoss; a sister, Shirley Van Vleet; brothers, Lester (Debbi) Blair and Lynn (Robin) Blair; nephews, Jason (Michelle) Blair and Kyle Blair; and a niece, Nicole Pachl-Bell. She is also survived by three grandsons and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Paws and Claws Animal Adoption and Care Center in Diamondville, 104 Sublet Ave. Diamondville, WY 83116.

At Claudette’s request, cremation has taken place under the direction of Ball Family Chapel, Kemmerer. A celebration of her life will be held by the family at some time in the near future.
