This year, his sophomore year, Owen Burnett got permission from the Lincoln County School District No. 1 to run cross country at Mountain View High School. Burnett said he had a good season.
“I was happy to be able to have a season,” Burnett said. “COVID-19 canceled track and field in the spring.”
Burnett competed in the 3A cross country state meet for Mountain View on Oct. 23. He placed seventh with a time of 17:29.3.
At an awards ceremony on Monday, Oct. 26, Burnett was awarded for finishing in the top ten with an All-State award.
Burnett said he is looking forward to running track and field for Kemmerer in the spring and he will be back in Mountain View to run cross country next fall.
