Bruce Edward Jones

Bruce Edward Jones joined his wife, Margaret Behunin, in their heavenly home on June 10, 2021. Born during the Great Depression on June 27, 1932, he lived the lessons learned the rest of his life. As the sixth of Harold Guy and Mary Grayson Jones’ nine children, he was taught to love God, respect women and work hard for the welfare of his family.

He attended Big Piney High School and participated in FFA and sports. While attending Brigham Young University, he met Margaret. They married June 22, 1960, joining together on an eternal journey of love, prayer and devotion.

Blessed with 12 children (and 58 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren to date), they led and mentored by example. Throughout his life, Bruce was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served diligently in many callings. He ranched most of his life on the Green River. A man of few words, Bruce used everyday work opportunities to teach the value of life, the joy of learning and progression, and the hope of eternity. He often encouraged others to “hang in there!” and:

“Put a smile on your face,

“A spring in your step,

“A twinkle in your eye,

“A song in your voice,

“Starch in your spine, and

“A prayer in your heart.”

He is survived by a sister, Meada Ouzounian; children, Celeste (Ross) Howard, Glade (Annette) Jones, Debra (Jeff) Stoutenburg, Beth (Brent) Rasmussen, Nathan (Cheryl) Jones, Jonathan (Laura) Jones, Glen (Jami) Jones, Joseph (Lisa) Jones, Melissa (Frank) Elenes, Anna (Carlos) Acosta, Aaron (Sarah) Jones and Mary Jones; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in LaBarge.
