The Kemmerer boys’ basketball team had their ups and downs this week at the Bridger Valley Tournament. On Friday, Dec. 11, Kemmerer won against Wind River 65-61. However, on Dec. 12, the Rangers lost against Cokeville 68-40.
“We played as well as we can expect at this time of the season,” coach Jim Grosulak said. “We are a pretty young team.” Grosulak said that he was happy with the effort and focus of the team.
“The team was great chemistry-wise,” Grosulak said. “They saw roles that needed to be filled in the team and they filled them.” However, he said the team needs to work on their defense. At one point there was a 10-minute stretch where Cokeville took advantage and scored against them, costing Kemmerer the game, according to Grosulak.
“We need more of an increase of awareness defensively, especially against Cokeville which is a very physical team,” Grosulak said.
Grosulak is proud of the rebounding effort from the team during the two games. While he said all the team did really well, Jake Kampman stood out this week.
